Trident NP by Neptune Systems Leaked Photo
Its that time of year again! The reef-aquarium show circuit is about to start so the product announcements are coming!
I came across a photo of the Apex Trident NP, soon to be announced by Neptune Systems - here are my first thoughts.
Automated Nitrate and Phosphate is being sought after by power users today, my opinion is different but its here. Neptune is
First thoughts
It’s the same design as the current Trident - I’m not a big fan, I think there is a lot of wasted space in the Trident. This design is not stackable or saves any space at all.
From a manufacturing perspective, they could have just re-used the same mold (at least that’s what someone I consider smarter than me said)
It is a self-contained unit with the reagents and pumps all in the same enclosement vs the recently announced Hydros Maven.
Notice in the highlighted area of the photo they mention the DOSQD? - This means that the next version of the DOS will be announced soon and will be using Ecotech’s Quiet Drive technology which I’m a big fan of (The DOS is too lound)
Slightly darker color to differentiate between units.
7 pounds - I just weighed my current Trident without the reagents and it comes in at just over 4 pounds. The 7 pounds could be the box shipping weight including reagents
Will be released in Q2 2024
